EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Ideate High Academy will continue the project-based approach to learning utilized at Urban Discovery Academy, integrating real-life experiences to promote deeper understanding of concepts. Ideate High Academy’s rigorous curriculum, aligned with the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards, will provide integrative, interdisciplinary curriculum that high school graduates will need for continuous learning in our rapidly changing and complex global society.

CURRICULUM AND COURSEWORK

All Ideate High Academy courses will be processed through UC for A-G course approval.  Alternatives such as Principles of Engineering and Design electives will have close collaboration with the UC approval work. Teachers work across disciplines in developing integrated approaches to courses, embedding common core and content requirements.  Courses may be modified for a block schedule format to allow for extended time frames for integrated projects.   Instructional minutes offered will continue to meet and/or exceed state requirements.  UDA meets or exceeds the 175 day school year.
