ACADEMICS

IDEATE High Academy students benefit from small class sizes in a smaller school providing significant one-on-one time with highly qualified faculty. We don’t believe students can get the time and attention they deserve in large classes. Students get noticed in our classrooms and labs and learning is enhanced. Research has shown that high school students in smaller classes have higher grades and perform better on university entrance exams. Classes become community with more feedback and focus on learning with opportunities to share ideas. Every student is encouraged to reach their potential, recognized and celebrated by faculty and staff as an individual.

CURRICULUM AND COURSEWORK

Teachers work across disciplines developing integrated approaches to courses, embedding common core and content requirements. Course may be modified for a block schedule format to allow extended time frames for integrated projects. Instructional minutes offered meet and/or exceed state requirements.

Through IDEATE High Academy’s dual-enrollment program at local colleges, students have the opportunity to earn more than a year of college credit by taking college classes.

Based on the NWEA Map Test, id8 High students saw a 2.2 grade level proficiency grade level growth in Math and a 1.5 grade level proficiency grade level growth in Language Usage.

Over 5% of id8 High 9th and 10th graders participate in the WIT (Whatever it Takes) Social Entrepreneur and Leadership Program, receiving 6 college credits through UCSD.
